Think of this as quality assurance

Before your document or project is published, I review it in its final format to ensure accuracy and consistency of all style and design elements (including captions, images, running heads, and hyperlinks). At this stage, care is taken to correct errors without making major overhauls to previously edited and revised work.

Proofreading is typically the stage that comes after copyediting and often the last editorial check before electronic or hard copy publication. This stage does not include large rewrites, text reorganization, and fact-checking, though I query anything that seems incorrect or needs double-checking.
